Coming up in future posts will be alot more tips and tricks, seeing as I’m headed into a new musical production at my school. Madness, accidents, and ideas are sure to follow! I’m also going to sart doing specific show reviews and summaries. First up: Beauty and the Beast!

Yes, that’s right, it’s almost that time of year again. Well, it will be that time in about 5 months. June 7th, to be exact.

This week Playbill.com announced the schedule for this year’s Tony Awards. The show itself will be a 3 hour long celebration aired on CBS and broadcast LIVE from Radio City Music Hall at 8pm EST.

Dates in relation to the event are as follows::

  • April 30: Cut off-date for Tony eligibility. To be eligible for nomination for the 63rd Annual Tony Awards, Broadway shows must open on or before this date.

  • May 5: The nominations for the 63rd Annual Tony Awards will be announced. Playbill.com will publish the complete list of nominees that morning.
  • May 6: The annual Meet the Nominees press reception, which allows members of the New York press to chat with those nominated for Tony Awards.
  • May 21: The Tony Nominees Luncheon, where the nominees celebrate each other’s achievements; no press members are allowed at this event.

Yes, time has finally run out on Hairspray. This past Sunday (January 4th) marked the final performance of the fun, high-energy show, which had two of its OBC stars returning for its final weeks.

On the upside, the rights to this show will hopefully become available soon, which is good news for comunity theatres and high schools across the country!

One thing fans will have to look ahead to- a sequel to the movie version of this musical. How they will make it work, I have no idea, but somehow they will…
On a personal note, I ask that you please excuse my lack of posts and occasional incoherency. I just got back to school from winter break, and I am begining rehearsals for the spring musical, writing a murder mystery, studying for the HSPAs and SATS (sort-of), looking at colleges, and a lot of other things, like having a social life. This results in my checking playbill.com for updates when I am very tired, and not really in the mood to be typing up posts… Speaking of which, it is time for me to go to sleep…. :P
Lots of Love,
