I have been singing and acting on stage since I was in the 6th grade. Well, since I was 5 if you REALLY want to be technical and count the church pageants and school choruses. It was in the 5th grade, however, that my love for performing truly began. You see, at the time my middle school ran from grades 4 thru 7 (strange, I know). There was a play that year put on by the 6th and 7th graders. I saw it one night and, needless to say, I was hooked. It wasn’t anything fancy, just a little thing called “Way’s End” that featured a girl getting lost in some other world where characters where such things as umbrellas, and her brother was carried away by some other actors… I really don’t remember the story that much. But what I DO remember is how excited it made me. I hadn’t known until then that I was able to do such things in my school. The next year I auditioned for “Annie Jr.” and started my acting career as the bully of the orphanage, Pepper. Since then I have been in 4 school musicals, 4 plays, 1 theatre camp musical, 1 play festival, 1 cabaret, and 1 community theatre operetta.
And there you have it. My tiny little resume, with barely anything outside of school. Good thing is, I am currently working on getting my career moving with more projects outside of school. I am currently part of a local opera company, and just knowing some of the people I met through it has opened up many oportunities for other company memberships.
